Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold 2022, Glasses T1, and More Announced

Lenovo has released a slew of new goods in the run-up to IFA 2022, including the ThinkPad X1 Fold 2nd Gen, the Glass T1, the IdeaPad 5i Chromebook, and more. Have a look at these specifics for further information.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold 2022: Specs and Features

Lenovo’s X1 Fold from 2020 has a sequel in 2022 called the X1 Fold 2022. It’s said to be the most portable commercially available laptop computer with a 16-inch screen. With a 4:3 aspect ratio, 600 nits of peak brightness, HDR, 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and more, the laptop’s 16.3-inch OLED foldable display is 22% larger than its predecessor’s. Also, a magnetic pen attachment is an available extra.

When collapsed, it has the equivalent screen size of two 12-inch tablets, making it convenient to carry along. The Mode Switcher user interface allows for the use of several different modes, including the traditional laptop clamshell layout, as well as landscape and portrait orientations, and book and tablet orientations.

In both the unfolded and folded states, the OLED display on Lenovo’s foldable laptop can lay completely flat thanks to the system’s bell-shaped hinge. By collapsing the display’s inactive space, a new user interface (UI) helps slim down notebooks and their accompanying bezels. Also, the graphite sheets may be folded to increase their efficiency in dissipating heat, a feature that has led to a patent application.

The ThinkPad X1 Fold 2022 features a 12th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB to 1TB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 1TB PCIe SSD, and Intel Iris Xe graphics, among other components. Powering the device is a 48Wh battery that can be rapidly charged using a 65W AC Rapid Charge adapter. Windows 11 Pro is preinstalled, and it has a three-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support.

Two Intel Thunderbolt 4 connections, USB Type-C, a nano SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 6E, 5G compatibility, Bluetooth v5.2, and more all contribute to the device’s connectivity possibilities. In addition to “wake-on-approach,” “Windows Hello,” “onlooker detection,” “walk-away-lock,” and more, the 5MP RGB+IR camera with Intel Visual Sensing Controller (VSC) processor has these and other features.

Available as an add-on for the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is a full-size backlit ThinkPad keyboard complete with a touch fingerprint scanner, TrackPoint, and a sizable haptic touchpad. The TrackPoint Communications Quick Menu App may be accessed using the keyboard’s touchpad, providing instant access to the device’s recording capabilities and allowing for easy video chats.

Lenovo Glasses T1: Specs and Features

“wearable private display for on-the-go content consumption” best describes the Lenovo Glasses T1. These glasses will be useful in the workplace as well as in entertainment applications.

The T1 glasses include a 60Hz Micro OLED screen that can display 1920×1080 on each eye. Both have been certified as having low levels of blue light and reduced levels of flicker by the TUV. Also supported are high-quality internal speakers.

Additionally, Windows, Android, and macOS devices with a USB-C port, as well as iOS devices with an adapter, are compatible with the Lenovo Glasses T1 (named Lenovo Yoga Glasses in China). The glasses can also accommodate prescription lenses and have a battery life that lasts for hours. They also have interchangeable nose clips and movable temple arms.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5i: Specs and Features

Furthermore, Lenovo has released the IdeaPad 5i Chromebook, the company’s first 16-inch Chromebook. There are 120 fps, 350 nits of peak brightness, 100 percent sRGB, and a 16:10 aspect ratio on the 2.5K LCD panel that measures 16 inches. There is also a version with a 60 Hz, 1080p display.

It supports up to a 512GB SSD and 128GB eMMC in addition to a 12th-generation Intel Core i3-1215U processor. The Chromebook features Chrome OS, a Full HD camera, and access to the Google Play Store, Google Assistant, and Android Studio for up to 12 hours of battery life.

There are two stereo speakers by MaxxAudio, a 180-degree hinge, and many connectivity choices on the Lenovo IdeaPad 5i, including two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, a microSD card slot, a combination audio jack, and a Kensington Nano Security slot. As for colour options, Storm Grey is what you’ll find.

Lenovo has also introduced the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro, Lenovo Tab P11, ThinkBook 16p Gen 3, Lenovo Legion Y32p-30 Monitor, ThinkVision displays, and the ThinkCentre M60q Chromebox Enterprise.

Price and Availability

Comparatively, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5i begins at €549 (about Rs 43,800), and the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold 2022 at $2,499. The cost of the Lenovo Glasses T1 has not yet been announced.

The ThinkPad X1 Fold won’t be out until the fourth quarter of 2022, but the IdeaPad 5i is available now. In late 2022, the Glasses T1 will be available in China, and in 2023, they will hit the shelves in a few other markets.
