An anime comes along every now and then that utterly defies all expectations and provides you something you never expected from the show. ‘Nagi no Asukara’ is unquestionably one of those shows, bringing something entirely new to the table. While on the surface, it appears to be a conventional high school show, it quickly rises to the top of the genre as its storey and graphics unfold episode by episode.
Aside from friendship and the importance of it, other themes addressed in the novel include social acceptance, prejudice, and some very spectacular sexual relationships. When it comes to romance, ‘Nagi no Asukara’ is unlike any other because the characters’ personalities are always shifting and changing. Putting the romance aside, the characters are all well-developed, and they all contribute to the overall storey.
P.A. Works Studio is known for producing well-known anime such as ‘Angel Beats’ and ‘Charlotte,’ but ‘Nagi no Asukara’ has by far the best animation and visual style of all those they have worked on. The images are stunning, and the entire underwater ecosystem, which includes humans and other aquatic life, is breathtaking. With this one, the Studio has set a high bar for future anime with futuristic themes. With 26 episodes, you’ll want to watch them all because it’s so interesting and enjoyable. It’ll be hard to put it down. ‘Nagi no Asukara’ is a rare find, and I heartily suggest it to anyone who would listen.

Nagi no Asukara Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?
Beginning on October 3, 2013, the first season of “Nagi no Asukara” premiered and lasted until April 3, 2014. It aired 26 times in total. The anime received a lot of mixed reviews from viewers, despite its slightly higher ranking on most popular platforms. There are many who love the anime while there are others who find it to be nothing more than a normal romantic storey. Despite this, the show was extremely successful for a time and many viewers were hoping for a second season.
There is no manga or light novel for this original series, thus its renewal would not be a major concern for the authors because they were never constrained by a source material. Although it had a lot going for it, it never really got a second season. Even though the programme is getting on in years, we aren’t ready to rule out the possibility of a new season just yet. As a result, while there’s still a chance that this anime may be renewed, we won’t know for sure until the series’ creators give the go-ahead. We can only hope that by the end of 2021 there will be some news about the release date of ‘Nagi no Asukara’ Season 2, and if there isn’t, then fans may have to look elsewhere.
Nagi no Asukara Plot:
A long time ago, the whole human population lived under the sea, but a handful chose to live on land and never returned. Humans on the surface lost their god-given gift called “Ena,” which allowed them to breathe underwater, as a result of their disrespect for the power they had. Over time, even though they were still in contact, the people who lived beneath the water moved further away from the people who lived above.
‘Nagi no Asu kara’ chronicles the adventures of Hikari Sakishima and Manaka Mukaido as they leave the aquatic realm to attend school with Chisaki Hiradaira and Kaname Isaki, two of their childhood pals. As time goes on, they run upon Tsumugu Kihara, a fisherman who has a deep affection for the ocean. They face the harsh realities of a society that is full of discrimination between those who are divided by the surface of a single aquatic body as they live their own lives on the surface.
Nagi no Asukara Characters:
Chisaki Hiradaira
Anime character Chisaki is a Shioshishio student and one of the anime’s female protagonists. She has a crush on Hikari in secret, but she never tells him about it because she knows he is madly in love with Manaka. She has long purple wavy hair and is a stunning young woman with a strong sense of self-awareness about her curvaceous shape. If her friends change, so will their relationship with her, and she fears that even their friendship with her will be altered as a result of this transformation.
Manaka Mukiado
To prevent sobbing, Hikari Sakishima’s childhood closest friend, Manaka, attempts to remain strong. Because she knows that Chisaki is in love with Hikari, she decides to cover up her feelings for him. She has long auburn hair and enormous deep blue eyes and is a stunning fair-skinned young lady. She dresses in a way that’s reminiscent of a little kid. She appears to be enthusiastic and upbeat at first, but she is still unsure of herself and unsure of what she wants to do. Later on, her character undergoes many changes and grows in self-assurance.
Hikari Sakishima
Because they’ve known each other since they were little, Hikari has always taken care of Manaka. He falls in love with her after spending a lot of time with her, but he doesn’t understand for a long time that she feels the same way. His first attitude toward the surface dwellers is one of contempt because they discarded the authority that had been bestowed upon them by the Sea King. Later on, he comes to understand that everyone is on an equal footing, and that those who live on land and those who live underwater are no different.
Kaname Isaki
Another of Shioshishio’s four best buddies, Kaname Isaki is a step up in maturity from the rest of his pals. He is smitten by Chisaki and adores her. In addition to having blue eyes like the other underwater creatures, he also has long, light brown hair. He likes not to get into arguments, and he approaches things with a laid-back demeanour.
Tsumugu Kihara
Tsumugu is a sea-loving child who lives with his grandfather, a fisherman. He encounters Manaka by accident one day while fishing and she gets trapped in his net. He maintains a serene demeanour and is enthralled by the creatures that dwell beneath the waves. Dark brown hair and expressionless eyes make him an attractive young man. He wants to listen rather than speak most of the time. Regardless of whether he is speaking or not, his voice is always quiet and composed. He wishes he could communicate himself more clearly, but he fails every time he tries.
